My approach to astrology is not one of fatalism, superstition, or judgment. I firmly believe that one can, in a sense, improve planetary energies and experience the higher octaves that the astrological symbolism represents on an internal level. Every person is unique and therefore every astrological chart is unique. No chart is a 'bad' chart and I believe with the right mind-set, circumstances can be adjusted more harmoniously. That said, predictive astrology is not 'bad' in itself and has a place when applied appropriately and with sensitivity. I am greatly influenced by the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda as expressed by his direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda, and so this naturally flows into my style of astrology. Swami Sri Yukteswar, a spiritual Master and Guru of Yogananda, as well as a astrologer-astronomer, defined astrology as "mans response to planetary stimuli". This definition symbolizes a new approach to astrology whereby one is not merely an automaton to the planets but can respond appropriately to facilitate greater freedom and personal growth. This is a core aspect of the astrology of the new age - Dwapara Yuga, and so I often call what I do, Dwapara Astrology.
